A directional remote needs clearly focused controls. If a mobile application expects taps in places you cannot reach, check its supported TV edition rather than assuming the television is broken.

An Android package is not a universal installer for Roku, Tizen or webOS. Use a viewing application supported by the actual platform or a compatible external device.
Phone and computer browsing
The browser catalogue lets you inspect a production before moving to the screen where you intend to watch it. No emulator is needed simply to open these movie pages.
Carrying the choice across screens
Keep the title, year and intended season. The local watchlist does not sign you into a separate television application or synchronize playback progress.
