Text language and spoken language
Select each separately when the viewing application supports it. A Hindi synopsis, for example, does not establish that a Hindi audio track is available for the selected edition.
Subtitles arriving early or late
Confirm the exact film version or episode first. If the player includes a timing adjustment, make one small change and inspect a spoken passage. Not every application provides that control.
Arabic and other right-to-left text
Disconnected letters, reversed order and missing characters are display symptoms, not simply timing problems. Compare another supplied track and the application’s language support. Do not download unrelated font packages merely because a subtitle line looks wrong.
Reading from the sofa
Choose a size, outline or background that remains clear from your normal seat. A subtitle style that is comfortable on a phone can be too small across the room.
